The requirements of food in captive animals depend
on the physiological status of the animal such as growth stage, pregnancy period
and lactation stage. Therefore, it is always important to provide feeds according

Physiological parameters: The normal rectal temperature in dogs ranges from 100.5 to 102.5°F. The respiratory rate in canids ranges from 11 to 20 breaths per minute. Canids have a heart rate of 75 to 185 beats per minute.
The dog milk contains 75.4 per cent water, 11.2 per cent protein, 3.1 per cent carbohydrate, 9.6 per cent fat and 0.7 per cent ash.
