Physical feature: The usual length is 1.2 m. It is lustrous black or bluish black
above. They have narrow white crossbars on the back more or less prominently
in pairs. The other features include long and cylindrical body, glossy scales, black
iris and short tail.
Behaviour: The Indian common krait is basically nocturnal. There are many instances of people sleeping being bitten by this snake. Life span: The life span of Indian krait is about 12 years in captivity.
