Reproduction: The sexual maturity is reac;hed at 15-18 months. They may breed throughout the year (e.g. grey kangaroo) or become opportunistic breeders
depending on the favourable conditions for breeding. Most young, however, are
born during summer months. A single young is usually born after a gestation of
28-38 days. The young enter into the pouch (a flap of skin covers the nipples)
after born and remain in the pouch for about 7-12 months.
Behaviour: The forelimbs are sometimes used in bringing food to the mouth and the claws of the hind limbs are used in grooming. Rumination takes place in kangaroo but the cuds are re-swallowed without being chewed.
Life span: The life span has been reported to be 12-18 years in the wild.
