Nilgai is also Known as blue bull.
Zoological name: The zoological name of blue bull is Boselaphus tragocamelus.
Distribution: Blue bull, the largest antelope of Asia, is distributed in peninsular India.
Habitat: They are found in the hilly grasslands or lightly wooded regions. However, blue bull prefers to inhabit in dry deciduous and thorn forests.
Behaviour: They are usually found in small groups consisting of 10-15 individuals. Blue bulls are much diurnal in habits. An important behaviour is that the blue bull has the habit of regularly defaecating on one particular spot like rhinoceros and four-horned antelope. They establish territories and form breeding herds during the rut.
