The order Primates contains a diverse group of animals such as apes, monkeys, marmosets, tamarins, bush babies, pottos, lemurs and men. Primates are the natives of Africa, South America and some parts of Asia. They occupy in a wide range of habitats. The tropical primates are distributed in tropical forests, woodlands, grass lands and vegetation complexes. They may live in the canopy or on the forest floor. The primates live in groups. The nocturnal species, however, are largely solitary in nature except the South American night monkey which occurs in small groups consisting of two to five animals.
