Zoological name: The zoological name of Russell's viper is Vipera russelli (Daboia Russelli).
Distribution: Russell's vipers are widely found in India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Indo-China and Indo-Australian archipelago.
Habitat: They normally live in plains.
Physical feature: The usual length is 1.2 m. The ground colour is brown with varying shades with three series of large oval spots. The spots are brown in centre and margined successively by black and white or buff. There is a dark stripe running from eye to lip. The head is covered with small scales. The neck is constricted.
