Physical feature: The wild pigs are distinguished by having a barrel-like body
with a large head. The snout is prominent. Each foot has four digits. The body is
covered by bristly hair. The upper canines are well developed and turn upward.
Reproduction: The puberty is attained at about one year of age. The females are highly prolific animals. The normal litter size varies between six and eight. The gestation period is 115-120 days.
Behaviour: Wild pigs are mainly active at night and live in groups. The adult male leads a solitary life.
Life span: The longevity is 10-20 years in the wild.
